Welcome!
The Office of Family Planning Male Health Educator
Training Institute will be held July 15 to July 20, 2007 in Austin, Texas.
What is it?
The Male
Health Educator Training Institute is an annual
intensive week-long
seminar sponsored by Title X to support
our continuing commitment to male
reproductive health. It is designed to provide health educators with
comprehensive knowledge of reproductive health, family planning and basic
health education competencies to enable them to work more effectively with
male clients in family planning programs and clinics. The Institute
presents two training modules each day
and attendance at each
module is mandatory.
Who should attend?
Attendees should be health educators in Title X-funded programs providing
DIRECT health education to males. To qualify as DIRECT providers, health
educators must spend at least 50% of their time providing health education
to male clients. Program clinicians, managers, directors, or other
administrative personnel are not the target audience for this training.
The training is structured to benefit both new health educators and those
